Stellenbosch is known for its great wines and fine dining, and so it is of little surprise that the SA Cheese Festival should make its home here. Having been awarded “Festival of the Year” in 2018, this event is now celebrating its 18th year running and boasts “a feast of 18-experiences-in-one”.
The festival offers a vast variety of cheeses, both local and from all
across the globe, with approximately 150 vendors to sample from. A selection of wines, craft beer, and gin will be available, as well as alternative and gourmet products – two of the more daring innovations being insect ice cream, and abalone pie. The live music line-up for the event includes ShenFM, Absolutely Fabulous, Sincere Swing, The Grey, Under Cover, and SHIM SHAM Band.
The festival will take place at Sandringham from Friday 26 April until Sunday 28 April. Tickets cost R120 per person per day, reduced to R120 for seniors and R20 for children aged 2 to 13, and must be bought in advance at Computicket, Shoprite, or Checkers.
