The administrative and academic structure of Stellenbosch University (SU) can be quite troublesome and stress-inducing. It’s important to know and understand the systems in place to help you.
ADMINISTRATIVE CONTACTS
The Client Services Center is responsible for general inquiries, admissions, bursaries, the issuing of student records, qualification certificates, and registration support. If you are unsure who to contact, it is best to contact the Client Services Centre directly. If they cannot assist you directly, they will refer you to the correct department. Email responses usually take between three to five business days.

CAMPUS SECURITY
Crime is a pressing concern in South Africa, so it is important for all students and staff to be aware of the security services available on campus. A trained security team patrols the campus, and a 24/7 operation room takes care of all emergencies. Whether you need an escort at night, have lost property, are a victim of theft, or accidentally locked yourself inside a faculty building, contact Campus Security for assistance.

ACADEMIC ROLES
• Faculty dean: The executive head of a faculty. SU has ten faculties.
• Programme Coordinators: They manage day-to-day academic programs, including the quality assurance of teaching and learning programs at the faculty level, course scheduling, student inquiries, and communication between faculty members and administration.
• Lecturers: You will see your lecturers in class every day. They are academic staff responsible for teaching, learning, assessments, conducting research. They may also serve as supervisors for postgraduate students and contribute to curriculum development.
