
Maties, you have arrived! The official welcoming ceremony of Stellenbosch University took place on Wednesday 28 January 2026 at the Danie Craven Stadium on the Stellenbosch Campus. New first-year students, new postgraduate students, and new staff members were welcomed by Simiso Langa, interim Chairperson of the Student Representative Council, and Prof Deresh Ramjugernath, Rector and Vice-Chancellor. Amongst others, the event was attended by parents, family members, student leaders, representatives of student societies, deans, staff of the Division for Student Affairs, and members of the Rectorate. WELKOM AAN DIE KLAS VAN 2026!
Maties, julle is hier! Die Universiteit Stellenbosch se amptelike verwelkomingsgeleentheid het op Woensdag 28 Januarie 2026 by die Danie Craven-stadion op die Stellenbosch-kampus plaasgevind. Simiso Langa, interim-voorsitter van die Studenteraad, en prof. Deresh Ramjugernath, Rektor en Visekanselier, het nuwe eerstejaarstudente, nuwe nagraadse studente en nuwe personeellede verwelkom. Die geleentheid is onder andere bygewoon deur ouers, familielede, studenteleiers, verteenwoordigers van studenteverenigings, personeel van die Afdeling Studentesake, dekane en lede van die Rektoraat.
