The world’s best freeride mountain bikers pushed the limits at Darkfest 2026, marking the event’s 10th anniversary with its biggest and most thrilling edition yet. Hosted from 14 to 22 March at the Hellsend Dirt Compound near Stellenbosch, more than 30 elite riders took on some of the largest and most dangerous jumps in the sport. Stellenbosch University (SU) alumnus Théo Erlangsen described the course as “insane”, noting that, while the stakes are high, riders ultimately compete against themselves and support one another throughout.

Every feature was hand-built by C-Dog and the Trails Crew, creating the perfect platform for riders to redefine what’s possible. Co-founder Sam Reynolds praised both the athletes and the team behind the scenes, reflecting on how far the event has come over the past decade. Alessio “Cornflakes” Tonoli and Natasha Bradley were crowned King and Queen of Darkness, respectively, leading a group of standout riders recognised for their creativity, style, and progression across an unforgettable week.
